Salt Lake City, top of Memory Grove
I love black and white! And when it involves twisted up wood the better.
I haven't been in the best shape for a while. I had a fall last summer, and it took a toll on my body...but it is time for a change. So when Juanita called me up and asked if I would enjoy going for a walk with her at Memory Grove I was up for it, thinking it would be a nice stroll in the park.
Little did I know what Juanita had in store for me, but it sparked something in me, one, I couldn't breath too well, HELLO asthma...but I think it helps to breath in the fresh air. The spark...I felt incredible afterwards and I wanted more of that feeling. But it was fleeting....the next week I couldn't move after that hike and I was asking myself how am I going to get healthy?
Juanita suggests a 5k, so I signed up and here I am scared I won't be able to breath as I walk 3 miles...Juanita took me for 3 mile walk last Sunday and again, I thought I was dying...not being able to breath is not fun. Juanita set up a schedule for me for the week to follow, and I just have to say, all week I was so tired. I came home from my internship and ended up taking a nap on the couch, just couldn't seem to keep my eyes open. One day of walking 2 miles is not going to cut it.
I need that spark...the spark that is going to push me to finish my goal, an do this thing, this thing being, my first ever 5k. So anyone out there, can you give me some advise? Advise on keeping that spark alive, about not giving up, about staying healthy while I train and during the 5k.

Anyone with a goal can always find 100 excuses why they can't. But for every 100 excuses not to do something there are 100 more reasons to DO something. Love you.
Also read this little article mom!

I know you can do it! My advice:
1) Keep it up...every day do a little something. Go for a walk, go up and down the stairs 10 times, lift milk jugs, etc.
2) Try eating a little something right before or during your exercise. It may help with your energy level.
