"Auld Lang Syne"

The “Auld Lang Syne” is a Scottish poem by Robert Burns. He wrote it in 1788 and it was set to to the tune of a traditional folk song.
And what does “Auld Lng Syne” mean? Translated into English, it literally means “old long since”, translated loosely – “long long ago” – “days gone by” – or “old times”. If you add the first words of lyrics, it can be translated “ for the sake of old times” – either sentiment is nice and friendly. Enjoy!

Burn’s Original Scot version:
Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind ?Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and auld lang syne* ?
CHORUS: For auld lang syne, my jo,for auld lang syne,we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,for auld lang syne. And surely ye’ll be your pint-stowp !and surely I’ll be mine !And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,for auld lang syne.
CHORUS: We twa hae run about the braes, and pu’d the gowans fine ;But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit,sin auld lang syne.
CHORUS: We twa hae paidl’d i’ the burn,frae morning sun till dine ;

Christmas Day

We had a lovely and yummy Christmas breakfast at Andrea's. Then we were off to meet Josh's family in West Valley. Everyone was really nice, especially about me forgetting names...lol....Oaklie made some new friends.
Then we were off to Sheryl's in Orem for the rest of the day. Tired already....

We had a wonderful surprise gift, Uncle Jim and Aunt Linda showed up! We all love and miss them so much. Michael, Victoria and his girls were also there. A lot of fabulous food, turkey, ham, pies, and fudge that Josh made with his Grandma Bev.

The only thing missing was the rest of our family. Our kids celebrated Christmas all over the country this year. Liana and her family in Idaho got a visit with Santa, Christopher, Emily, Krysia, Miller and Lucas celebrated Christmas in Texas. While Tiffany and Kevin are in Delaware.

We love and miss them all so much. Maybe one day we will all be together again.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Andrea's Engaged!

Josh and Andrea got engaged on Christmas Day! We are so happy for Andrea. We are looking forward to the coming year and all it has to offer.

What a year!

That's my honey in his leathers, we were riding the motorcycle up Sundance and it was chilly.
Damon, Sami, and Brenden. We miss them.

Andrea, Liana and Tiffany. Three of our beautiful daughter.

Lucas and his smiley self

Andrea, Sloane, and the Williamson Family at the hospital.

Wendy, Juanita, Sky and Solee.

Tiffany always has a way of making me laugh. She did so much for me when she was staying with us before heading off to Dover to be with Kevin.

Sloane is such a happy little girl. We are so blessed to have the Willimanson's. How can anyone doubt the Lord's hand in this beautiful decision for our Sloane. It brings peace to me and my heart. I hope it does for Andrea as well.

Once again has been a busy year with trips to the hospital. Illness seems to be a common feature in our lives. From Lee's kidney stones, to colitis, the flu, dad getting pneumonia, kidney issues, mom having surgery....geez...I think we need an all year pass at the hospital. Or maybe a frequent flyer miles card....

We have also had a some additions to our family. Krysia gave birth to our cute little Lucas in Texas, in March. We were so blessed to visit with them in Texas this year! Krysia is such a good little mom, and Lucas is such a happy baby! We love and miss them so much. I love cuddling with my little Lucas. He is so lovable. I was so sad to leave them there. I wanted to hide them (Krysia and Lucas) in my big a@* suitcase.

It was also nice to see Christopher and Emily. They are very compatible and it makes me happy that they have so many of the same interests. Emily is a good wife for our Christopher, good job Chris, you chose wisely. Emily you are amazing, we love you dearly!

Andrea gave birth to Sloane, and we have another family to be grateful for. Andrea made the decision to place Sloane for adoption, and The Williamson Family are Incredible! We love them so much. Sloane is such a happy, smiley little cutie. We were so happy we could be there for Andrea and Sloane on her birth day. And that we got to spend a few days with Sloane before heading home to her family. I am so grateful for Andrea and her selfless decision and for the Williamson's and their love for our family, for their love for our daughter, and especially for their love of our beautiful Sloane.

We got to go to Idaho to see Liana and her family, we had a gret weekend with them. And saw Tiffany off as she was leaving to Kevin's graduation in Missouri before they move to set up a new home in Dover.

Out grandkids, Damon, Sami and Brenden are growing so fast. They are so funny, and one day with them and I feel older than my 44 years. Damon was a sweetheart when he said to us, "You don't look old enough to be grandparents, you are still young!" I think he's my favorite..."wink, wink."

Juanita and Eric got a new additon as well, their cute little murphy. He is such a doll, I love to him, I love that Juanita has a running buddy when Eric is not around.

Andrea got her dream puppy....Boomer, and adorable white bulldog. He is so cute. I am happy that he makes her so happy.

Tiffany and Kevin moved across the country. They have made Dover, Delaware their home for the next couple of years. Kevin is in the Air Force so I will blame them for taking my girl so far away from us. I miss her terribly. I miss you too Kevin...

We got to visit with Sky, Solee, and Wendy one day. It wasn't long enough for me, but what can you do? I love them so much! Sky and Solee are getting so big. I can't believe that Sky is 10 and Solee is going to be 7 in March, it takes my breath away....
Thank you Wendy and Malen for being such EXTRAORDINARY PARENTS!
To my fantastic husband for supporting me in my endeavors. For his love and comfort when I have been ill, or feeling down, or letting me be alone when I need it. He is so selfless. He works so hard for our family. He works all day at his job as a Network Systems Engineer for Novarad. Then he ususally comes home only to do some pretty manuel labor to help his folks. Or to help one of his sisters with one of their many needs.

Not to mention helping in our Ward when called upon. He enjoys Home Teaching and serving families in our Ward. He is very busy with his calling in our Stake calling as the Stake Emergency Communications Coordinator. It is something right up his alley. He enjoys learning all he can about emergency prepardness and how he can help our Stake.

It has been a year of many new and wonderful, and bittersweet memories....

A Christmas Carol

This is my favorite version of A Christmas Carol, I think it was also known as Scrooge. I grew up watching this movie as a little girl and for some reason it stuck. There have been many versions of this movie that I have enjoyed throughout the years, but this one will always be my fave.

A Little Tree

This year for the first time in over 20 years we will not have a live tree. I went to Tai Pan trading and found this cute little tree for only $8.50, what a deal!
Yes, it is quite little, but that's okay I got the ornaments I wanted on, and it's okay...

Malen, Wendy, Sky and Solee got us this beautiful ornament last year. I wanted to display, but it would not fit on our little tree, so I hung it up. I think it's the perfect place for it. Thanks Pierson Family for the beautiful ornament, it adds to our home a wonderful family whom we love so very much!

And the reason for the small tree. My birthday gift from my husband. Our old couch was on it's last leg...and all I wanted was a new couch this year. Sooooo, that is what we got, and a big one at that. Now all our kids and grandkids have room to sit with us and be comfy. I am so grateful for a husband who works hard for our family. Thanks honey, I love you and our new couch to cuddle with you on....

Harry Potter

I can't believe how time has flown by....but here we are at the end of the Harry Potter story. It makes me a little sad to think after next Summer there will be no more Harry, Hermione and Ron.
Look how they have grown and changed. I love Harry Potter and all the great memories our family has shared throughout the years.

I think they did a pretty good job with this last one, and I can't wait to watch part two.

Good food, family and friends...

The food was so yummy. Though I only did eat a little, due to the fact that I have been sick and this was my first time eating a full meal in about a week.
Turkey, ham, stuffing, yams, green beans, etc...

Dad and Sheryl

Bev after a long day...
Beverly is going to kill for posting this picture, she hates her photo taken, but this one...

Michael and Victoria's girls enjoying their plate of food, and these girls can eat.

That photo everyone hates of me getting them while their mouths are full of yummy food....lol
I just can't seem to help myself...and no, you will not find one picture of me. Someone had to take the pictures.

Grandpa napping while Josh watches T.V.

Jackie and her new boyfriend Jason, they made it offical....What a cute couple they make.

It was a pretty good day, though I didn't get to spend it with my children. At least I was feeling good enough to even go. Which I was so thankful for, considering all the good food.
All the kids were playing hide and seek, Josh and the guys were watching "chunkin' pumpkin" or some such thing about catapulting pumpkins and all the money people pour into such an endeavor, yikes. And we got to meet Jason, Jackie's new boyfriend. Jason seems like a really nice man, and we hope to get to know him and embarrass Jackie with all the stories we could tell, hehehehehe...No really we think he is a really nice and look forward to getting to know him.
And for the rest of us it was catching up with friends and hearing funny stories from the past...
All in all it was a pretty good day. Tired by the end, but still good...
Oh, and my husband burping his little heart out, hello, good food, and me sticking up for him because for some reason no one else burps in this family, oh brother...I say get over it.
Anyway, good Thanksgiving, burping and all.....

Happy Thanksgiving

I am so grateful for my family. I am grateful for my beautiful and talented children. I am grateful for my grandchildren, they are beautiful, smart, and sweet, and we love them so much. I am grateful for my husband who takes care of our family, who works so hard, who takes care of me even after a long day at work. I am grateful for my little sis, who knows everything about me and still loves me. I am grateful for the love of friends...they keep me grounded and humble. I am grateful for the gospel in my life, I am grateful for a prophet that guides us in these trying times. I am grateful for the scriptures that remind me of how small I am in the scheme of things. I am grateful for the love of my Father in Heaven. I am grateful for my Savior who is never far away...I am grateful for the Atonement, and the peace it brings to my life.

I have so much to be grateful for...

Have a Happy and Wonderful Thanksgiving!

Wonder Woman!

Megan fox has been dissing my childhood hero, Wonder Woman. Not good...

When I was a little girl my sister and I would love to watch Wonder Woman. She was a strong woman, who would protect those in need. A powerful woman indeed...

For a little girl who did not grow up in a happy home, it was one of those things that helped to give me strength. I know that might sound silly, but what can I say. I love Wonder Woman!

"Armed with a magic belt giving her tremendous strength, bracelets that can stop any bullet, a tiara that can be thrown as a returning weapon and a unbreakable magic lasso that can force anyone to tell the truth."

If anyone is lame it's Megan Fox. She is putting down something she obviously has no idea about. Not to mention the fact that she is acting like one of those "diva chicks" no one likes to watch anymore. I think she is biting the hand that feeds her....if you know what I mean, just saying....

Anyway, just needed to get that out. I love Linda Carter, she is an amazing role model. And I am glad I had her as one as I was growing up.

Turkey day is every day....

....in our family. Hehehehehe

The All American Thanksgiving...

That is what I want....I want to be surrounded by my family at a large dinnner table, eating turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, and yummy yams....etc...
Enjoying company with my kids and grandkids. Catching up with everyone, telling story's of past holidays. Me commenting on how big the grandkids are getting, and don't get to see them as often as we'd like. You know the drill...
Watching a movie, playing a game, or going shooting to wrap up the day. Then taking a nap with my grandkids about me.
But alas, with grown children who have other families to visit. Or who live out of the state altogether. Not to mention the fact that we live in a basement apartment and have no dining room, let alone room to move around. We find ourselves in this dilemma of what to do for the holidays?
Here's to hoping for a miracle..because deep down inside I still believe in them.

I am not perfect!!!

And I never will be, not in this life. I constantly make mistakes..I can be immovable when I think I am right.

I want everyone to be happy, yet everyone is unhappy with me.

I feel like I should be able to do it all, but I can't no matter how hard I try. How frustrating is that?

I don't cook dinner at the same time every night, or have a meal plan, sometimes a microwave dinner is my best friend.

I am not a morning person, so if I can, my day starts at noon....if or when I get a job, I really, really hope I can work in the afternoons.

I like to watch movies curled up on my couch and watch reruns of my favorites shows, especially if they make me cry...yes, I am admitting I am a waste-timer....sorry to burst your perfect image of me.

I am sarcastic, and have a tendency to offend, and sometimes I don't care.

There are days I stay in my p.j.'s all day long and don't shower for three maybe four days..I know, yuk, but at least I am not in construction work....or work at a fish factory.

I have awful road rage, you don't want to be in a car with me. I scream and swear and sometimes use that finger I am not supposed to. Hello, I am on the road, watch out you don't kill me...too many close calls....

I don't have a relationship with my mother, why, because she chose my abuser, her husband over me. Though there are times I miss my mom, I don't miss her...I know that sounds twisted, but it's true.

I don't always agree with my children, but I try accept the choices they have made.

Sometimes I say the F word, and I hate that word.

I call people on their shit, and they hate me for it. Yes, there are people out there who actually "hate" me.

I make mistakes all the time, get used to it. I am not perfect, never will be. So get over it.

Yes, today is one of those days where I felt the need to vent, and say it like it is. Try not to hate me too much for it.

Tis the Season...

....for Mint Truffle Hot Chocolate!

sometimes...

I am grateful for the quiet solitude....it helps to remind me to pray for peace,
for comfort for understanding of things that hurt.

I am grateful for my Savior who provides me that peace...

Just a little Kitchen Dreamin'

This one really is my favorite. I love how the space is so large and everyone can actually fit around that table...I love that open feeling, how it flows from the kitchen to dining and then the family room....just a little dream....
I love that big attached island and how family can sit at the bar to watch me cook. Everyone always ends up in the kitchen....

Again, I love the open feeling of this one. I love that island and all those lovely cabinets.

Everyone knows that green is my favorite color is green, but this might be too much....Though I do like the idea that the fridge is made to look like the cabinets.

Just when you think you have everything to do the one thing you feel is important...red tape gets in the way...

Today was one of those days for Lee and I. We thought we had done our part to be ready for today, November 2nd, the day to have our voice count. But, alas it was not to be...

For some reason our registration wasn't valid because of a new rule this year. Something we weren't aware of and the deadline came and went. Nothing to do...I am bummed out about. What can we do?

Who Knew "Wood" Could Look Like That?!

One of our stops on our way home from Texas, was the Petrified Forest. I told Lee I had a completely different idea of what I was going to see. But nothing prepared me for how much in love I am with this place. It is amazing! I was in awe...

This is just a peek at one of the many photos I took, enjoy...
