Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) uses shock waves to break a kidney stone into small pieces that can more easily travel through the urinary tract and pass from the body.
That is the procedure that Lee had done yesterday. It was not his first time having it either, it was his 7 since he turned 18 years old. Not a whole lot of fun for him. This time around the stone measured in at 4mm, which is pretty big...
At the hospital at 6 in the morning and out the door at noon. Boy what a long day...Lee and I didn't sleep too well the night before so it seemed longer than it actually was. I kept falling asleep on the uncomfortable chair in post-op, a kind nurse offered me a pillow, I happily accepted.
Lee is recovering at home nicely. I made sure he stayed in bed and took his meds, like a good patient.
When we got home all we could think about was taking a nap, so we did.
Anyway, that was our day. Now Lee just has to pass all those little stones...oh boy...I feel for him.
Love you honey

I'm sorry this is happening again.
If you need ANYTHING you know who to call!!!
OUCH! I am very prone to kidney stones and I know the pain! Hope they all passed and I hope Lee is on the mend.
Tell Lee we are thinking of him, that does not sound fun at all
